Building on the work of the Ad Hoc Committee on Decolonization (2018–2022), the mandate of the Ad Hoc Committee on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), created in Fall 2023, was to coordinate a consultation process aimed at identifying the CSECS’s EDI priorities.

The Robert and Moira Sansom Ideas Foundation was established in 2013 with the intention to create a Graduate Student Scholarship for Studies in the History of Ideas, granting $10,000 each year in support of the work of the recipient. The Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies announces the appointment of Peter Sabor as an Honorary Member of the Society. This appointment coincides with the creation of the Peter Sabor Fellowship, designed to encourage and support editorial projects related to the eighteenth century.

It is with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of Robert James Merrett, honorary member of the Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies.
