Building on the work of the Ad Hoc Committee on Decolonization (2018–2022), the mandate of the Ad Hoc Committee on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), created in Fall 2023, was to coordinate a consultation process aimed at identifying the CSECS’s EDI priorities.

The committee formulated three proposals, that were adopted at the last CSECS General Assembly to guide future work towards EDI.

The Robert and Moira Sansom Ideas Foundation was established in 2013 with the intention to create a Graduate Student Scholarship for Studies in the History of Ideas, granting $10,000 each year in support of the work of the recipient. The scholarship is open to graduate students, who are or will be studying at a university in Canada, whose work relates to the History of Ideas.
