The Burney Society of North America and the Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (CSECS) are pleased to sponsor a biennial research fellowship designed to promote editing projects in eighteenth-century studies. Eligible projects may include printed editions of eighteenth-century texts, digital editing projects, or volumes of essays on topics related to editing.
The fellowship is named in honour of Peter Sabor, Canada Research Chair and Director of the Burney Centre at McGill University (2003–2024). Professor Sabor is a long-time member and past president of the Society, and a distinguished scholar of the eighteenth century.
The fellowship supports students and researchers engaged in editing projects in eighteenth-century studies. It is awarded competitively every two years in early spring. Applications are welcome in either of the Society’s two official languages, French or English. Applications from previous recipients are accepted but priority will be given to new applicants.
