CSECS is currently seeking new members to join its Executive Committee. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the Society’s many initiatives and to actively promote Canadian eighteenth-century studies. Getting involved with CSECS is also a wonderful way to build connections with colleagues from various disciplinary and geographical backgrounds.
Members who wish to nominate themselves or a colleague are invited to complete this online form by September 15, 2025.
The list of candidates will be submitted for a vote at the General Assembly.
The following positions are open:
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining the Society’s archives, preparing minutes, and corresponding with other scholarly organizations. In coordination with the President, the Secretary also helps prepare meetings and the General Assembly.
Term length: 3 years.
Start date: November 2025.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for administering the Society’s budgets. They also contribute to fundraising campaigns and serve on the CSECS Fellowship Committee.
Term length: 3 years.
Start date: November 2025.
ASECS Representative
The ASECS Representative attends ASECS conferences and meetings and reports back to the Executive on all matters concerning the relationship between the two societies. If the Representative is unable to attend a meeting or conference, the Executive may appoint a substitute.
Term length: 3 years.
Start date: November 2025.
President
The term of the current President of CSECS is coming to an end in Fall 2025. .
Term length: 3 years.

All Members of the Executive Committee are expected to:
- Be available for occasional consultations and online meetings throughout the year.
- Attend the Annual Executive Committee Meeting and the AGM, which are held during the annual CSECS conference.
